I have very little computer-related experience. Can I be successful in the program?

You can be successful at Brensten Education with very little previous computer knowledge or experience. We have an approach to training that has helped many adult learners change careers quickly. With a variety of teaching methods and a focused curriculum, we can help you meet the challenges of acquiring employable IT or marketing skills.

Do I have to quit my job to go to school?

Our program is designed to be flexible so that our students can continue meeting the demands of their current career and families while they train. We understand that most students can’t put their lives on hold while they train. If you aren’t sure whether you have time for our program, talk to us about your needs so we can determine your potential for success.

Will Brensten Education help me get a job after I graduate?

Our student services start the moment you reach out to us and continue after you complete the program. While Brensten Education, or any school – by law – cannot guarantee you a job or a specific salary, we are accredited by ACCET. Therefore, we are required to maintain a minimum of a 70 percent placement rate. We continue to achieve and exceed this minimum each year. Our career advisors are dedicated to helping you land your first job in the field. They stay busy by networking with area businesses and IT managers on your behalf to seek potential career opportunities for our students.

Is Brensten Education an accredited school?

Yes. Brensten Education is proud to be accredited as a private vocational school through ACCET, a nonprofit accrediting body governed by the U.S. Department of Education. By meeting the ACCET Standards for Accreditation, the Brensten Education program offerings and services must be represented in an ethical manner. In order to remain accredited, there are minimum standards for graduation and placement, both of which Brensten Education has not only met but far exceeded.

How do I apply to Brensten Education?

How will I pay for my education?

The financial aid department at Brensten Education works with every student to find a way to pay for their training. We have several packages available to qualifying students. What are the admission requirements to be considered for the program?

Students must be 18 years of age or older to enroll; they must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED and pass an entrance exam comprised of the ACT Exam and a background/reference check. Certain misdemeanors and felonies may prevent student admission. Brensten Education requires the student to obtain a Windows « PC for at-home use by class start date in order to facilitate outside study, assignments, practice and review. Some previous computer or computer networking experience is helpful but not required. A basic understanding of computers and technology concepts. Students do not receive credit for previous career/computer experience or training.

What type of jobs will I be trained to do?

At Brensten Education, you can be trained to hold positions as a help desk support specialist, network/system administrator, PC technician , or digital media specialist. Learning to perform each of these roles can help you prepare to provide valuable support to a variety of industries. Since most organizations, large, small, public and private, rely on computer networks and digital marketing to run efficiently, there are several career paths you may consider after completing the program.

How do certifications compare to a degree?

Brensten Education does not underestimate the value of a well-rounded education as achieved through a degree program, but a degree program only offers general knowledge of the field you are entering. The certification program at Brensten Education is specialized and focuses on the skills you need to pass the certification exams that show you are an expert in certain areas in Information Technology. Similarly, our Digital Marketing program results in a personal portfolio which will demonstrate your ability to run a successful digital marketing campaign. A certification or portfolio can tell prospective employers that you are ready to step in and do the job right now.
